Veteran Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has criticised what she described as an entitlement mentality in Nigerian society, saying begging has become increasingly common in the country.

The actress made the remarks during a recent episode of Activating Success With Love Idoko, where she said she did not support or encourage begging except in life-and-death situations.

According to Omotola, people should seek legitimate means of earning a living rather than depend on others for financial assistance.

She argued that there was no reason people should be unwilling to work, expressing concern about what she sees as the growing acceptance of begging in society.

Omotola, who is one of Nigeria’s prominent film stars, has remained active in the entertainment industry for decades.
