Wande Coal: God, not Don Jazzy, made me successful

Nigerian singer, Wande Coal, has said his success in the music industry is ultimately the work of God, rather than his former record label boss, Don Jazzy.

The singer made the clarification while reflecting on his career and the role Don Jazzy played in his rise to prominence.

Wande Coal acknowledged the contributions of Don Jazzy to his career but rejected the narrative that the music executive was solely responsible for making him successful.

According to him, his talent, hard work and the opportunities he received were part of his journey, but he gives the credit for his success to God.

Wande Coal began his mainstream career with Mo’ Hits Records, founded by Don Jazzy and D’banj, after joining the label in 2006. He later became one of the label’s prominent acts and released his debut album, Mushin 2 Mo’ Hits, in 2009.

The singer later moved to Mavin Records following the collapse of Mo’ Hits before leaving the label in 2013 to establish his own record label, Black Diamond Entertainment.

Wande Coal has previously praised Don Jazzy for his contribution to his early career, describing him as a gifted producer and songwriter.

However, the singer maintains that his ultimate source of success remains God.
