Davido: I’ll soon leave music to make billions
Afrobeats star, Davido, has said he may soon leave the music industry to focus on making billions.
The singer made the remark during an exchange with Nigerian rapper Erigga on X over comments about artistes who come from wealthy families and those who had to struggle to build their careers.
Erigga had praised musicians who did not come from wealthy backgrounds and had to work hard for every dollar they earned.
Davido, however, disagreed with the sentiment, arguing that coming from a wealthy family does not mean an artiste cannot work hard to achieve success.
He said people from privileged backgrounds also put in significant effort to reach the top.
The exchange later became heated, with Davido describing Erigga’s position as “useless motivation” and criticising the rapper.
Davido subsequently said he would soon leave music to focus on making billions.
“No worry o, I go soon leave their music for una go make my billions,” he wrote.
The comment has since generated reactions from fans and followers, with some interpreting it as a possible indication of the singer’s long-term plans outside music.
