Nigeria at 66: Sanwo-Olu calls for unity among citizens

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged Nigerians to set aside ethnic, religious and other differences and work towards the unity and development of the country.

Sanwo-Olu made the call in a message marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary.

He said the country’s diversity should not be allowed to create divisions among citizens, urging Nigerians to focus on issues that unite them.

The governor called for greater understanding and cooperation among people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds.

He also urged Nigerians to contribute to the development of the country in their respective communities and areas of responsibility.

Sanwo-Olu said the country’s progress required citizens to work together despite their differences.

He called on Nigerians to remain committed to peace, unity and national development as the country marks the anniversary.

The governor also acknowledged the challenges facing the country, saying they should not undermine the collective responsibility of citizens to build a better society.
