Actress Oluebube Obio alleges she was forced to attend APC campaign
Nollywood actress Oluebube Obio has alleged that she was forced to attend an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign event, saying her life and safety were not guaranteed.
The actress made the allegation in a social media post after videos showing her at the political gathering attracted criticism from some Nigerians.
Responding to the reactions, Obio said her appearance at the event was not voluntary and claimed that she had been subjected to pressure and blackmail.
She said she was uncomfortable throughout the event and urged her supporters to pray for her.
Obio also said she would reveal the identities of those she accused of forcing her to attend the campaign when she considered the time appropriate.
“I was actually forced to be in such settings. My life and safety is not guaranteed,” she said.
The actress added that she felt uncomfortable and stressed during the event, urging the public to look beyond the videos circulating online.
She did not identify the individuals she alleged were behind the pressure or provide details about the circumstances surrounding her attendance.
The development comes amid increased political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
