Amaechi tackles Sowore over comments on politicians
Former Rivers State governor and vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has criticised Omoyele Sowore over comments made during their encounter at an event in Abuja.
Amaechi told Sowore to remain silent while politicians were speaking in a remark captured on video and circulated on social media.
The exchange occurred during the 66th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), where both politicians were present.
In the video, Amaechi was heard telling Sowore, “When politicians are talking, close your mouth.”
Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election, has been a vocal critic of Nigeria’s political establishment and has frequently criticised politicians over governance and national issues.
Amaechi, who is seeking the vice presidency on the ADC platform, has also been involved in political activities ahead of the 2027 general election.
The brief exchange between the two politicians has attracted reactions on social media.
