 Another prominent UNILAG Academic dies of covid-19

The University of Lagos (UNILAG),  has lost yet another prominent academic, Prof. Duro Ajeyalemi, to the covid-19 virus.

This is three days after the University’s eighth Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, also died of the virus.

Prof. Ajeyalemi who was once the Dean of Education, UNILAG, and also the pioneer registrar of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), was reported to have died on Wednesday morning.

He was reported to have died at the isolation centre at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Lagos.

Ajeyalemi who retired at the age of 70 from the university in November, 2020, joined UNILAG as a Graduate Assistant in 1977-81 and gradually rose through the ranks till he became the Dean, Faculty of Education in 2006.
