Breaking: Delta mobile police officer dead following gunmen attack

Unidentified gunmen on Friday afternoon shot down a mobile police officer in Effurun, Uvwie council area of Delta State.
The gunmen also reportedly made away with the late police officer’s gun after killing him around 2.30 pm around the well-known Jakpa road.
While details of the incident are still unclear, it is said that the murdered policeman was acommpanying a man who stopped at a roadside shop to make some purchases.
It was gathered that the gunmen arrived the scene in a vehicle, shot the police officer many times before driving off after making sure he was dead.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident to The Nation newspaper, but failed to give additional details.
He said: “It is true. I don’t have more any information but the truth is that a mobile policeman was killed along Jakpa Road. But his details, where he is attached to, I don’t have for now.”
