By Emmanuel Awosika

The Lagos State Police on Friday recovered the mace stolen by hoodlums from the Ogun State House of Assembly yesterday.

Lagos Street Journal reports that invading hoodlums had made away with the mace after breaking into the officer of the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo.

Announcing the recovery on Friday, Lagos State Police Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, revealed that the police found the stolen mace at the Abule-Ado area of the state in the early hours of Friday.

“Someone in a moving vehicle, suspected to be Toyota Siena Space Wagon, threw out an object into the nearby bush and the police recovered the object which was later identified to be the Ogun State House of Assembly Mace,” he disclosed.

He added that the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, has asked Deputy Commissioner of Police (State CID), Yetunde Longe, to safeguard the mace and plan with the Ogun State Police Command to return it to Ogun State.
