Court sentences man for raping minor

The State High Court in Oyo has handed one Seyi Adekoya a 14-year jail term for raping a nine-year old girl in Ibadan.
The suspect, who lives at E7/207, Oke Offa Baba Isale, Ibadan, is said to have forced sexual intercourse with the the minor on 15 August 2020.
In his ruling, Justice Ezekiel Ajayi said: “I am of the view that the prosecution had proved the essential ingredients of rape.
“I hold that the defendant is guilty as charged and accordingly all issues resolved against the defendant. The defendant is sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.”
