 Covid-19 update: Lagos records more than 30,000 cases

The Commissioner of Health, Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi announced that confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lagos State stood at 30221 as at December 30, 2020.

The Commissoner in a tweet on Friday, said that 570 new COVID-19 infections were discovered on Dec. 30 alone.

The total number of COVID-19 tests so far, according to him, is 219,664 while 2,901 COVID-19 patients have been successfully treated and discharged from the state’s care centres.

He said the total number of #COVID-19 recovery in communities is 22,789, 115 infected people are in isolation across the state while 4,176 are receiving treatment at home.

Abayomi stated that the state recorded three new COVID-19 related death, increasing the total deaths to 240.

Eti-Osa, Ajeromi, Surulere, Amuwo- Odofin and Mushin local government areas are the top five high burden areas.

As at December 30, Nigeria recorded 87,510 confirmed cases, with 73,713 discharged and a total of 1,289 deaths.
