Davido Reveals Amount He Would Charge For Joint Tour With Wizkid
Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has said he would demand $500,000 per show if he embarks on a joint tour with fellow Nigerian singer, Wizkid.
Davido expressed confidence that a joint tour with Wizkid would attract massive audiences, insisting that every venue would be sold out.
The singer made this known during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he discussed the possibility of recording music and touring with Wizkid.
However, Davido expressed uncertainty about whether a joint song between them would become a hit.
He cited the collaboration between Nigerian singers D’banj and 2Baba as an example of a musical partnership that did not achieve the expected success.
“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop,” he said.
Speaking about the possibility of a joint tour, Davido said he was confident that the two singers would attract large crowds across different venues.
“If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out,” he added.
The singer also disclosed that he and Wizkid had not recorded a song together in about 10 years.
He explained that their failure to collaborate was not because they were incapable of working together but because they had not been in the same mental space.
Davido also acknowledged differing opinions about their rivalry, with some believing it had contributed to their individual success while others felt a collaboration would further boost their careers.
Speaking about putting past disagreements behind him, the singer said maturity was necessary to acknowledge when one’s feelings towards another person had changed.
“I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he said.
