Donald Trump’s Younger Brother Passes Away

By Emmanuel Awosika

President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced the passing away of his younger brother, Robert, on Saturday following the latter’s hospitalization for an undisclosed ailment.

“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight.

“He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace,” he said in a White House statement.

Per reports, Trump, 74, had visited his brother at the New York hospital where he was receiving care on Friday, staying close to an hour.

He told journalists he was “having a hard time” when quizzed en route his golf course in nearby Bedminster, New Jersey.

From all indications, Donald Trump had a good relationship with his younger brother during the latter’s lifetime.

He had previously described Robert Trump as “wonderful”, and explained they have “had a great relationship for a long time, from day one.”

Unlike his reality TV star brother, Robert Trump was more reserved and less outgoing. He had initially worked on Wall Street before joining the Trump family’s real estate business.

He was also loyal to Donald Trump, declaring in 2016 that he was “one thousand percent” in support of his brother’s bid for President of the United States.

Other members of the Trump clan have expressed their grief at the elder Trump’s death. Ivanka Trump, niece to Robert and daughter to the American president, took to Twitter to mourn her uncle’s loss.

“Uncle Robert, we love you. You are in our hearts and prayers, always,” she said on Twitter.

Her brother, Eric, also mourned the loss of Robert Trump, saying he would be missed by the entire Trump family.

He tweeted, “Robert Trump was an incredible man — strong, kind and loyal to the core. Anyone who encountered him felt his warmth.”
