El-Rufai says he will not seek revenge over perceived injustice
Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said he will not seek revenge against anyone who has wronged or abandoned him.
El-Rufai made the statement in a piece titled “My Relationships and the Aftermath”, where he reflected on his relationships with people he had supported over the years.
He said his support for others was based on his convictions and values rather than an expectation that they would reciprocate when circumstances changed.
The former governor said he had accepted that people were free to make their own decisions, including choosing to remain silent during difficult periods.
According to him, recent events had given him a different perspective on some of his relationships.
El-Rufai said he would not allow what he considers injustice, ingratitude or injury to push him towards revenge.
“I will not revenge any injustice, ingratitude or injury done to me,” he said.
He added that his focus was on maintaining a clear conscience and leaving ultimate judgment to God.
The former governor’s comments come amid his ongoing legal troubles following his detention by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over allegations linked to his tenure as governor of Kaduna State.
El-Rufai has denied wrongdoing in relation to the allegations.
