Fire razes store belonging to Ajimobi’s wife in Ibadan

Tragedy befell Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, wife to former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, after fire burnt one of her stores in Bodija, Ibadan on Sunday.
The fire at Grandex Supermarket, a chain store operated by wife to the late Ajimobi, reportedly started around 3pm, and would have spread save for the intervention of fire fighters.
Responders from the Oyo State Fire Service worked alongside officials of the Federal Fire Service to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading through the entire store.
Meanwhile, operatives from the State Joint Security Task Force Team called Operation Burst stood guard at the scene to prevent looting.
Reports gathered state that Mrs. Ajimobi, alongside some relatives and colleagues, later arrived the scene to evaluate the situation.
The leader of the Federal Fire Service team which helped put out the inferno reportedly told journalists that the fire outbreak was due to overloaded electrical sockets and electrical sparks.
As at the time of writing, the management of the store had not issued any statement on the incident.
