 I was an Okada rider before I got into gospel music -Paul Friday

Fast rising gospel act, Paul Friday popularly known as Omo Abule said he was riding Okada in Lagos before he hit stardom in gospel music.

He also said he had earlier learnt furniture making but nothing worked untill he ventured into his music passion.

He disclosed this last Saturday while featuring on a radio programme, ‘Ojumo Alayo’ on Lagos based Faaji FM, hosted by Sulaiman Adegbenro popularly known as Consoligbadun.

He further stated that he must have got his music talent from his late father who he said stage musical performances during festivals in Karanla village via Mowe in Obafemi-Owode Local Government area of Ogun State.

He said he later horned his music talent in the choir when he came to Lagos.

Paul Friday said, “I could say that I must have got the music talent from my late father. He was a popular singer during masquerade festivals in the village.

“Again, I learnt furniture making, and I was also an Okada rider, and while in transit conveying passengers I usually entertained them with songs.

“As fate would have it, some of these passengers went to the Pastor of the church where I worshipped that he should accommodate me among the choir. that is how I developed and became an household name in gospel genre of music.”

Paul Friday said he became a professional gospel musician in 2013 when he released his first work ‘Omo Abule’ and altogether to date he has released five works.
