INEC announces date for 2023 Presidential election

The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed February 18, 2023, as the date for the 2023 Presidential Election.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced this while addressing attendees at the inauguration of the House of Representatives Committee on Constitutional Review.
Yakubu urged the committee to make quick work of the exercise ahead of the election, which he said was 855 days away.
The tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari, who was reelected in 2015, will officially end on May 29, 2023 after which he will hand over to the winner of the Presidential Election.
