 National budget scales through first reading

The Senate on Thursday passed the 2021 budget for a second reading after debating on its general principles for three days.

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, tasked the Committee on Appropriation to review the budget and submit its report in four weeks’ time.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2021 National Budget to a joint session of the National Assembly last Thursday for approval.

According to the budget, the Federal Government was asking for about 13.08 trillion naira to execute its activities for the next fiscal year.
