 Kashamu Interred At Ijebu-Igbo

By Emmanuel Awosika

The remains of Senator Buruji Kashamu have been buried at his Ijebu-Igbo residence according to Islamic rites.

The body was lowered into the grave some minutes before 1pm as sympathizers gathered to pay their last respect to the late PDP chieftain.

According to multiple sources, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State Governor, paid a condolence visit to Kashamu’s family earlier this morning.

Kashamu, 62, passed away yesterday from coronavirus-related complications at a hospital in Lagos.

The mood in Kashamu’s residence where the burial took place was mournful, with many weeping profusely. Individuals gathered at the burial described the late Kashamu as a philanthropist and a cheerful giver.

During his life, Buruji Kashamu had represented Ogun East Senatorial District between 2015 and 2019. He was also the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 Ogun State Governorship election.
