Lagos Assembly Confirms Three LG Service Commission Nominees

Lagos Assembly lawmakers have confirmed the appointment of three nominees as Members of the Local Government Service Commission, while deferring the consideration of two other nominees for further review.
The resolution followed the presentation of the report by the 12-member Ad hoc Committee on screening led by the Chairman and Chief Whip, Hon. Mojeed Fatai.
Presenting the Committee’s report, Hon. Fatai stated that the nominees were questioned on their vision and expected contributions if confirmed.
They all responded confidently, outlining innovative ideas and broader initiatives they intend to introduce to enhance service delivery in the State.
They also demonstrated the competence, qualifications, experience and integrity required to serve as members of the Commission.
Those confirmed include Mr. Bamgbola Hakeem, Mr. Olaleye Shamsideen and Mrs. Olabanji Folashade.
Announcing the resolution of the House, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa stated that Pursuant to Section 3, Subsection (3) of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission Law, 2019, the House hereby confirm the appointments of Mr. Bamgbola Hakeem as the Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission; Mr. Olaleye Shamsideen and Mrs. Olabanji Folashade as Member Lagos State Local Government Service Commission.
However, the confirmation of Mr. Hameed Seriki and Mr. Yinka Murisiq Durosimi was deferred for further consideration.
In another development, The House approved the following; Irrevocable Standing Payment Order For Bluecap Technology Limited Regarding Mechanised Street Sweeping Operations; Lagos State 1 Trillion Debt & Hybrid Instruments Issuance Programme 4: Proposed Up To ₦200 Billion Conventional Bond “Programme 4 Series 5” Issuance; Request For Lagos State House Of Assembly’s Resolution Authorizing Lagos State Participation In The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) Receivables Discounting Programme For State Infrastructure Financing.
Thereafter the House adjourned Sine die.
