Lagos guber: Hamzat says he met running mate only after selection

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Kadri Hamzat, has disclosed that he did not know his running mate before she was chosen for the election.

Hamzat made the revelation while speaking at a public event in Lagos, where he reflected on the process that led to the formation of the ticket.

According to him, he only became acquainted with his running mate after the party had concluded the selection process.

“I never knew my running mate until after she was selected,” Hamzat said.

He explained that political decisions are often made through party structures and consultations involving key stakeholders.

The deputy governor added that despite not knowing her beforehand, they were able to build a working relationship after the ticket was announced.

Hamzat also stressed the importance of teamwork and cooperation in governance, noting that effective administration depends on collaboration among elected officials.

His comments have drawn attention to the internal processes political parties use in choosing candidates and running mates ahead of elections.
