One of the two deceased adult males recovered by the Agency’s Response Team was late Mr. Christopher Eyor, whose corpse was handed over to his family upon official request by his relatives, as attested by members of the Red Cross Society and LNSC officials, who as stakeholders were present at the incident scene.

However, the third and unaccounted victim of the accident was said to have been a very young female, whose corpse was said to have been removed before arrival of responders at the incident scene, while others “were evacuated from the scene to a nearby hospital”.

Further, while the spilled crates of beer were evacuated from the road manually, the affected vehicles were recovered from the carriage way to a lay by with use of the Agency’s Light Tow Truck.

In the final phase of the recovery operation to ease the traffic situation, the Agency deployed it’s Heavy Duty Crane to recover the upturned truck before being attacked by miscreants.

Commenting on the multiple accident and incessant attacks on responders by miscreants, the DG/CEO LASEMA Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu stated that, “Ten persons (10) including a baby were evacuated from the scene to a nearby hospital.

“The overturned truck was recovered with the Agency’s Crane, but could not be evacuated from the carriageway by the Agency’s super metro because the team was attacked by miscreants.

“The team has been forced to suspend the Recovery operation for safety reasons.

“It is of note that this attack is part of a very worrisome trend of first responders being attacked in the course of their duties.

“Lagosians are urged to refrain from endangering the lives of emergency responders and allow them to carry out their lifesaving duties.
