The management of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has approved the re-opening of the institution’s secondary staff school with effect from Monday, 28th November, 2022.
It would be recalled that the management ordered that the school be shut down on November 11, 2022 pending the investigation of the death of a pupil of the school, Abdul-Rahman Dauda.
Three suspects among the teachers were arrested in connection with the death of the pupil.
The SS2 pupil was allegedly chased to his death by his teacher on October 28. The mother of the deceased took to protesting the death of her son in front of the school gate.
In a statement, the spokesperson for ISS-LASUSTECH, Lanre Kunye, said the school has been shut down due to the unfortunate incident.
He added that students will be engaged in online learning while the school will be restructured and repositioned.
“In view of the unfortunate incident that recently occurred at Lagos State University of Science and Technology International Secondary School (LISS) which claimed the life of a student, the Management of Lagos State University of Science and Technology wishes to inform the general public that the school has been closed forthwith due to the unfortunate incident.
