 Covid-19 Death: YABATECH shutdown Medical Centre

The Management of the Yaba College of Technology has shutdown the Institution’s Medical Centre.

This was in reaction to the death of a member of staff of the College, M A Omoighe due to Covid-19 infection.

His death has caused a chain of reactions from the management of the school.

A memo released on Monday, 25 January, 2021 after an emergency meeting of the management of the school revealed that the school has shut down the APU and the Medical Centre for one week.

The memo signed by S O Momodu, Registrar of the Institution also ordered all staff in APU to self isolate for one week and also present themselves for Covid-19 test.

“All offices in the school are expected to operate in 50% capacity while meetings of more than 10 people should be held virtually,” the memo said.

The memo also directed that all staff who have had close contact with the deceased staff and his family should go for Covid-19 test while it has now become compulsory for all staff and student to wash their hands and wear face masks when they are in the premises of the school.
