Messi Refuses To Show Up For Barcelona Training

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi failed to show up at the club’s training on Saturday morning, according to reports in the media.
Messi, 33, had announced his decision to see out the final year of his contract at Barcelona following a protracted transfer battle with the Barcelona hierarchy.
In spite of that, the Argentine had missed this morning’s training, Barcelona’s second since the start of the preseason.
Messi had also skipped the COVID-19 screening, which is mandatory for all Barcelona players.
Local media indicate he may not allowed to train with the team until he takes – and passes – the Coronavirus test.
It is unclear if Messi will be part of Barcelona’s team when they face third-division side Nastic in their preseason opener on September 12.
