Muslim Community seeks support on social programmes

The Ameer of Ishagatedo Muslim Community (IMC), Alhaji Sherifudeen Salaudeen has called for more support as he sought partnership with individuals and corporate organisations for the execution of its various social programmes.
He listed some of the programme to include an educational seminar for students in secondary schools and marriage counselling.
He explained that the NGO’s numerous social programmes in the community have impacted positively on the lives of individuals and the community, making reference to the health programme organised last month.
He said that over 100 residents benefitted from the free medical programme and health tips.
His words: “Most of our people are not so supportive. It’s not only in our community but the country at large. People barely contribute and support beneficial programmes in the society and that’s why we are using this medium to call for more support and cooperation from well-meaning residents and stakeholders in the community.”
The Public Relations Officer of the organisation, Mr. Gafar Olafimihan informed that the education seminar is scheduled to hold on October 1 as usual being a national holiday, adding that the students are expected to come along with a parent each.
