 Nigeria records 829 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that it recorded 829 new COVID-19 cases in the country.

The health agency made the information known on Saturday via its verified website.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 83,576 with 70,495 discharged cases and 1,247 deaths.

The NCDC also added that it record one COVID-19-related death in the last 24 hours prior to making the report.

According to the report, the new infections came from 14 states across the country and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Lagos had the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 296 cases while the Federal Capital Territory came a close second with 291 cases. Kaduna, Rivers, and Kano recorded 79, 40, and 35 cases respectively.

Other states that recorded new COVID-19 infections include Nasarawa (25), Bauchi (19), Benue (8), Borno, (7), Edo (7), Oyo (7), Sokoto (7), Cross River (3), Jigawa (3) and Ogun (2).
