Nkechi Blessing, Phyna set for celebrity boxing bout

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday and former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna are set to face each other in a celebrity boxing bout in Lagos.

The two entertainers are scheduled to meet in the ring on October 1, 2026, following a series of disagreements and exchanges on social media.

Nkechi Blessing announced the proposed fight on Friday through her Instagram account.

The development comes shortly after the actress criticised Phyna over her frequent online confrontations with other people.

Phyna subsequently responded to Nkechi Blessing’s comments, questioning why the actress had publicly addressed their disagreement after they had previously spoken privately.

Their exchange has continued to attract attention on social media, with the disagreement now set to move from online arguments to a boxing ring.

The October 1 bout is expected to take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.

Nkechi Blessing had also expressed confidence ahead of the contest, challenging Phyna to meet her in the ring.

The two entertainers have not disclosed further details about the rules or arrangements for the bout.
