NURTW, Okada Riders Clash In Lagos

Men of the National Union of Road Transport Workers and Okada riders clashed earlier this morning in Lagos.

The incident was earlier rrported as a clash between Yoruba and Hausa Youths, but Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor of Lagos has refuted the claim, and revealed that it was between transport workers.

He wrote on Twitter,

“Correction: please there’s no ethnic clash in Lagos. No State has been more tolerant in Nigeria, where you have every tribe from the country than Lagos.
The early morning clash was between members of the NURTW and the Okada riders. @PoliceNG has brought situation under control.”

It was also reported that residents in the area of where the clash happened scampered for safety, as the clash got serious
