In a bid to foster unity and harmony within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi-Isolo local government area, the LGA party Chairman, Hon. Saheed Animashaun, has set up a reconciliatory committee to reconcile aggrieved members of the party.

The committee headed by Alhaji Sabitu Shittu is tasked to bring all aggrieved members back to the fold.

It would be recalled that after the primary elections of the House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly, some party members were aggrieved due to the outcome of the election.

Earlier before swearing-in of the new committee, the former reconciliation committee that was set up after the local government chairmanship election, headed by a former local government chairman, Prince S. O. Aina, submitted their report and was dissolved accordingly.

The party Chairman, Hon. Animashaun, noted that “some of our members aspired for House of Reps and House of Assembly tickets, as it is expected in every contest, one person will emerge. We are all humans, they may feel aggrieved or slighted but we need to bring them back to the fold. Since we have elected our candidates, we need to pacify them and ensure we all present one formidable house as we go into the general elections.”

He subsequently inaugurated the reconciliation committee with mandate to ensure all the aggrieved members are pacified.

He said: “You all are inaugurated today to bring our members that are angry, for one reason or the other, back on board. Let them know that the party is supreme and the party wants them to set aside their grievances and reunite with their colleagues. I want to implore everyone that the reconciliatory committee will contact to respond accordingly and not call the bluff of the committee because they are working under the authority of the Party.”

Also speaking, the Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 candidate of the party, Otunba Steven Kayode Ogundipe, appreciated the party for instituting such committee.

He also said there is need for members to put their differences aside and work for the success of the party. As said the party is big and magnanimous enough to accommodate everyone hence their is no need for internal rancour.
