Osinbajo disowns on-air castigation of Tinubu by supporter

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has urged Nigerians to ignore completely, one Olugbenga Olaoye, Co-Convener, ‘Osinbajo Think Thank’ over his recent comments during an interview.
Olugbenga, while responding to the presidential ambition of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu in an interview on Arise TV, said Nigerians did not need another sick and incompetent president who would be embarking on foreign medical trips.
He claimed that Nigeria desperately needed a capable and efficient person like the Vice President who officially announced on Monday to contest for the top political office in the land.
“We cannot afford another sick President who will be travelling to London all the time as we currently have, we need someone who is mentally sound. The little time that Osinbajo spent leading FEC was different. Things were moving,” he said.
Osinbajo while reacting to the comment through his spokesman, Laolu Akande, claimed that Olugbenga did not represent the office of the VP and should be ignored.
Reacting via his official Twitter page, Akande said that he was not aware of the Osinbajo Think Tank group.
The tweet read: “Indeed, this gentleman does not represent the VP nor the Office. His views are completely and totally his own.
“This particular opinion he has expressed on TV is deplorable and in bad taste. I am not even aware of the so-called Osinbajo Think Tank he purports to represent. Pls IGNORE.”
