Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has been elected as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), following the conclusion of the association’s 2026 national election.

Badejo-Okusanya secured victory after polling 47.18 per cent of the 26,106 valid votes cast, defeating fellow Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Lateef Akangbe and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, in the keenly contested election.

Her election marks a significant milestone for the legal profession, as she becomes the second woman to lead the NBA in the association’s history, more than three decades after Priscilla Kuye served as its first female president.

She is expected to succeed the outgoing NBA President, Afam Osigwe (SAN), and will oversee the affairs of the association during her tenure.
