Peter Obi urges INEC to extend voter registration exercise
Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC Peter Obi has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to extend the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to allow more eligible Nigerians to register.
Obi said many prospective voters have been unable to complete their registration due to overcrowding and logistical challenges at registration centres across the country.
He urged the electoral commission to ensure that no eligible Nigerian is denied the opportunity to obtain a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) ahead of future elections.
According to him, broad participation in the electoral process is essential to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and ensuring credible elections.
Obi also appealed to INEC to address operational challenges at registration centres and provide adequate support to facilitate a smooth and inclusive voter registration exercise.
