Police in Lagos have arrested four suspected armed robbers who have allegedly been terrorising residents of Alakuko and its environs for some time now.

According to the police report, the suspects, namely, Suleiman Babajide, 26; Mustapha Michael, 25; Daniel Gideon, 23, and Olalekan Adesina, 26, were arrested early on Tuesday.

The suspects are said to have operated around the AMJE Bus Stop, Ajegunle, Masalasi, and Dalemo communities in Alakuko, robbing residents of their valuables.

Items recovered from the suspects include a pistol with four live cartridges.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti for investigation.

Adejobi disclosed that the Police Commissioner had charged his operatives to weed out all criminal elements operating within their jurisdiction.

“We must rise up to the security challenges in the state and continue to contain them appropriately in as much as the Nigeria Police reigns,” Adejobi quoted Odumosu as saying.
