Police station allegedly denies missing boy found in Ajao custody

The officers of Ajao Estate Divisional Police Station have allegedly refusing to take custody of a missing boy found by officers of Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps (LNSC), Isolo LCDA before tracing his relatives.

Attention was drawn to the young boy around 10:25 am in the morning after narrowly escaping being hit by a vehicle in the process of crossing at Asa-Afariogun area.

He was detained by the corps officials attached to the area; ACS I Officer Ayodele Micheal, ACS I Ajibola Olatunji and CA Abdul-Kareem Zainab, CA I Babatunde Bolarinwa since he appeared to have lost his way.

As learnt, efforts to get any bio-data from the boy proved abortive as he has vocal impairment.

According to the Corps Superintendent (CS), Funmilola Adekile, after painstaking efforts to get any bio-data from him was futile, he was taken to Ajao Estate Police Station, where he was rejected by the policemen.

“When the boy was found and after questioned, he couldn’t say anything about himself. Around 1:30PM. We decided to take him to the police station in the area and that’s Ajao Police station but the boy was rejected by the police officers. They were all on mufti and we learnt that the DPO was not around.  They said they can’t accept him that we should take him back.”

She said the boy was later taken to Alakara Police Station, Mushin.
