 Police stops Oodua Nation Protest in Ibadan

The Oyo state Police command have successfully halted the planned peaceful protest by agitators of the Oodua Republic in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

As early as 8:00am when Lagos street journal visited the Mapo Hall venue of the protest, a combined team of Mobile Policemen, Civil Defence Corps, Men of the Operation Burst arm of the Police, State Security Service (SSS) have locked up the main entrance to the massive edifice.

Police vans and armed police officers in high numbers were stationed in strategic positions.

Organisers of the protest, Ilana Omo Oodua members were visibly absent at the venue.

However, an anonymous source confirmed to this medium that, the group will hold a Press Conference by 1:00pm.

The group had in a WhatsApp message circulated during the week mobilised members from accross the southwest states of the federation, Lagos, Ogun, Kwara, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo to converge in Ibadan, the proposed Political Capital of the Oodua Nation, urging members to dress in Amotekun Outfits or White regalia.

Theme: Ileya, Omo Oduduwa, Ileya!

Notice is hereby given that the ILANA OMO OODUA organisation has given its full support for the holding of a mega rally at Ibadan to press home the demand of the Yoruba people for Self-determination.

Please come well dressed in your Amotekun outfit or pure white regalia to symbolise the noble and pure spirit of the struggle.
