Cristiano Ronaldo has tied Lionel Messi’s record for highest number of home goals scored in the UEFA Champions League competition.
Ronaldo scored the opening goal in his side Juventus’ win over Hungarian club Ferencvaros on Tuesday evening.
Ronaldo’s heroics in win saw all-time UCL tally rose to 136 goals, which comprise spells with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
UEFA statistics reveal that Ronaldo scored 70 of those goals on home ground, helping him tie long-term rival Lionel Messi for most goals scored at home in UCL history.
Messi has scored 70 of his goals at Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium, while Ronaldo’s goals have come in matches played across the Santiago Bernabeu, Old Trafford and the Allianz Arena.
