The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu has said he will not shy away from listening to citizens and improving lives.

The governor, on Tuesday, at the second edition of the ‘Sanwo-Olu Listens’, a programme aimed at supporting residents with medical and financial challenges, said his governance is not only about securing lives and property, but also ensuring the daily upkeep and welfare of the citizens.

He noted that the initiative was to empower the vulnerable and improve their standard of living. He added that his administration would not shy away from listening and engaging the citizens of the state with sincerity of purpose and intention.

“I am delighted to be at this event and listen to some of the beneficiaries as they table their priorities. This is what government entails. Not only for the security of lives and property. We know you will face health challenges, house challenges, children school fees, etc and we will find a way of giving succour and lifting citizens out of the problems,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Also, vulnerable Lagosians, especially those whose sources of income were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, were presented with cheques.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Aderemi Adebowale, commended the governor for the continuous aspiration of his administration to support struggling individuals in the state as demonstrated by the “Sanwo-olu Listens” initiative.
