 Zulum compensates families of farmers killed in Zabarmari massacre

Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has compensated families of 48 farmers killed by Boko Haram in Zambari with twenty-eight million, eight hundred thousand naira.

Each of the 48 families the sum of N600,000 and several bags containing food items from the committee set up by the governor.

The fund was put together with input from the Northern Governors Forum (NGF) and North-East Development Commission (NEDC), who donated N20 million and N5 million respectively.

Borno State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Saina Buba, led the committee that distributed the items to the bereaved families.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs also contributed to the compensation efforts by giving food items to the affected families.

The breakdown of items distributed is: 13,000 bags of rice; 1,300 cans of vegetable oil; 2116 cartons of seasoning cubes; 1083 sachets of tomato pastes; and 650 sachets of salts.
