 Lawmaker to commission new classrooms, distributes learning materials to schools in Isolo

The Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Oshod-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson will soon commission two blocks of twelve modern classrooms, an administrative building and toilets constructed in Farombi Primary School.

The project, according to the coordinator of Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson (GAJ) in the Alagbeji Ward, Hon. Abiodun Adegboyega, which is from the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contracted to Lekki Nigeria Limited is part of the numerous projects Johnson has facilitated to the constituency.

Adegboyega told our correspondent who made a facility visit to the school premises that the project is part of the list of basic needs he submitted to his principal to be executed in his ward.

He said the reps member has already delivered two projects in his ward which include installation of streetlights in LSPDC Estate and the newly constructed blocks of classrooms.

Adegboyega assured constituents of more developmental projects from his principal.

Commending Johnson over the project, the school headmistress, Mrs. Joy Okoroafor-Ugbogu, said with the project, the number of classrooms in the school has increased significantly and the learning environment has become more conducive.

The facility has increased the classes in the school to 20 with additional toilets and a block of administrative office funded by the lawmaker.

Mrs. Okoroafor-Ugbogu, who was recently posted to the school, was visibly elated about the project as she explained that the facility would aid effective teaching and making learning easy for the pupils.

The PTA Chairperson, Mrs. Adebisi Adeola simply commented: “I’m very happy and grateful to our honourable. The facility has brought improvement to the premises and this will greatly aid the learning and fast assimilation of the pupils.”

Ahead of the commissioning of the classrooms, the lawmaker has donated some learning materials to three public primary schools in the constituency.

The schools are Farombi Primary School, Akinbaiye Primary School both in Isolo LCDA and Imakiyo Primary School in Ejigbo LCDA.

The support materials include sets of computers, chairs, desks, office equipment, office cabinets, textbooks and big notes.

Speaking on the gesture, Johnson said it was done to complement the efforts of the state government in education sector.

He noted that the donations became more important after a thorough inspection of the schools to understand their basic needs.

The Education Secretary Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Barr. Femi Ogunwusi, commended the lawmaker for channeling resources to support education sector in the constituency as he emphasised that Johnson’s achievements in the constituency are limitless.
