Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has spoken against gender-based violence, urging men to stop assaulting women.

In a message shared on social media, the actor condemned physical abuse and called on men to treat women with respect.

RMD said violence against women should not be normalised and stressed the need for collective efforts to address the problem.

The actor’s comments have added to ongoing conversations on gender-based violence in Nigeria, where advocacy groups and public figures continue to call for stronger action against domestic abuse and other forms of violence affecting women.

RMD is one of Nigeria’s most prominent actors, with a career spanning several decades in the film industry.
