The Chairman of Isokan Community Development Association (CDA), Charity Oshodi, Mr Kazeem Fawole, has appreciated the effort of the state government to have re-launched  ‘Jigi Bola’ (eye glasses) for the community use.

With much relief, he informed the community members that very soon the glasses will be brought to the community to solve the poor sight issue of the community members.

The Jigi-Bola Free Sight and Hearing Aid Programme conceived 20 years ago and implemented during the tenure of the former governor of the state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was re-launched last week to cater for eye problem of Lagosians.

The initiative was conceived as an innovation to improve the vision of Lagosians who were visually impaired as well as borne out of the concern to reduce the negative effect of preventable visual impairment on residents of the state.

Sanwo-Olu, who spoke at the ceremony held at the Police College in Ikeja, said the re-launch of the Jigi-Bola initiative signals the commitment of the present administration towards improving the well-being and welfare of Lagosians.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Kadri Hamzat, said the re-launch of the initiative was in celebration of one of the many legacy grassroots outreach programmes of Tinubu’s administration, and also a clear testament of the determination of the present administration to prioritise all aspects of healthcare delivery.
