 LASUCOM obtains approval to conduct Covid-19 test

The Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) has received approval from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to conduct Covid-19 tests.

Acting Provost of LASUCOM, Prof. Abiodun Adewuya, disclosed this at the induction of the 15th set of medical doctors/fifth set of dental surgeons held in Ikeja over the weekend.

According to him, the Molecular Laboratory of the college had received its operational license, thus can conduct Covid-19 tests and other tests.

Adeyuwa noted that despite the pandemic, the institution continued to attract multi-million naira research grants.

He commended the Lagos State Government for its support of the LASUCOM’s bid to become the best medical college on the continent.

On his part, the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Lanre Fagbohun SAN, charged the inductees to maintain a high level of excellence and professionalism in their activities.

Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Admin) Prof. Oyedamola Oke, the VC asked the newly inducted medical professionals to use their skill to spur transformation in Nigeria’s health care sector.

Since inception, LASUCOM has produced 858 medical personnel till date.
