 NASU chairman appeals to govt for more staff

The Chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Oshodi-Isolo LG chapter, Comr. Aderemi Gbadebo, has appealed to the government for more hands in the non teaching staff section to address personnel shortage challenges.

He noted the shortage of staff members including administrative officers, auditors, examination results and records keepers, secretary, security guards, cleaners and others.

He particularly emphasised on security, disclosed that the major challenge lies on the less security guards to man the school premises both in the morning and at night to curb hoodlums invasion of schools.

To make the school security guards effective, he pointed out the need to have well erected security house with door and window in each school as well as provision of a whistle, flashlight and raincoat for each of the security guards.

He said several reports concerning hoodlums taking over primary school premises have become constant phenomenon due to lack of security guards.

The NASU Chairman stated that it is high time school management acted to protect their schools from being destructed by hoodlums.

He called for government intervention in the aspect of employing more hands especially the non teaching staff, to secure pupils, teachers and the school properties.
