 Nigerian Varsity loses 3 lecturers same day

The Abia State University, Uturu, has lost three of its lecturers at the school on the same day.

The lecturers, A. I. Nwabughuogu, professor of History/International Relations; D. S. Okoroigwe of Geography/Planning Department; and Osince Okike of Political Science, all died last Friday.

According to information, the cause of the deaths is yet to be ascertained.

feelers from the campus revealed many lecturers in the school are currently going through economic hardship.

A source revealed, “We are being owed more than seven months’ salaries; the last time (we were paid) was January 2021.”

The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Abia State University, Victor Nkemdirim, confirmed the three deaths, describing the situation as unfortunate.
