Sanwo-Olu: Health Commissioner gives update on governor’s COVID-19 recovery

The Lagos State Health Commissioner, Prof. Akin Abayomi, announced on Tuesday that the health of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has shown signs of improvement.
Abayomi disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday morning to give an update on the governor, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
Sanwo-Olu had gone into self-isolation on Friday after one of his close aides tested positive for the virus. However, he received his own positive result on Saturday, forcing him to remain in isolation.
He said: “All tests conducted on him recently indicate no signs of the adverse impact of the COVID-19 infection.
“We are indeed optimistic Mr. Governor will soon be free of the virus and fully back on the beat to steer the ship of our dear state.
“Our thoughts, prayers and well-wishes are with our governor at this time. We wish him full recovery soonest.”
He reiterated the government’s commitment to stemming the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
“We urge Lagos residents to remain vigilant and compliant to avoid #COVID-19 infection,” he added.
