The management of the Lagos State University oof Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has debunked an online publication that the institution is owing its adjunct staff six months honorarium, stating that the report is not true of the situation.

In a statement signed by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Mr Lanre Kuye, the school management said the adjunct staff were only owed three months honorarium, which had been paid up on Thursday, this week.

The statement read: “The attention of the University Management has been drawn to a publication making round that the University was owing six months honorarium. This position is untrue and mere spread of falsehood to out the University leadership in bad light.

“In spite of the several strategic efforts by the management to reposition the university for better delivery, the University will like to state categorically that it is not owing six months honorarium to the adjunct lecturers.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the adjunct lecturers in the Polytechnic were only owed three months and the money had been paid on Thursday, March 2nd.

“It is imperative to note that the process of remunerating Adjunct Lecturers is that they teach, examine, invigilate and mark which last for a period of three months.”
