AC Milan confirmed today that forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic tested positive for COVID-19 in an announcement.

The announcement comes some hours ahead of the club’s tie against FK Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League qualifying rounds on Thursday.

The club said they have notified authorities of the issue, adding that Ibrahimovic has entered the mandatory self-isolation.

Apart from Leo Duterte, no other Milan player has tested positive for COVID-19. The defender’s test results showed positive earlier this week and he has also entered quarantine.

Ibrahimovic has continued his fine form at AC Milan, whom he joined after leaving American League Soccer side LA Galaxy. He played in two of Milan’s opening games, scoring three goals.
