 Infamous kidnapper, Evan’s sister says she lost two months pregnancy in SARS custody

Teacher, who said she lost two months pregnancy in SARS custody, Mrs Ndubisi Obiechina, has identified herself as the sister of the popular billionaire kidnapper Chukuwudmeme Onwamadike known as Evans.

Mrs. Obiechina had told the Lagos state judicial panel of enquiry on Restitution for Victims of Special Anti- Roberry Square, SARS Related Abuses and Matters that she lost two months pregnancy while in the custody of SARS.

She said she never knew that he was popularly known as Evans.

Police lawyer from Force Intelligent Response Team, (IRT), Nosa Uhumwangho, told the panel that it was through her invitation they were able to arrest Evans.

According to Uhumwangho, three phone numbers, that were used to collect $1million ransom from one Francis Umeh, who was kidnapped by Evans, in 2016, belonged to Mrs Obiechina and her husband.

This numbers came out prominently when Umeh reported the matter and it led to the arrest of Mr Obiechina and her husband Mr Okechukwu Obiechina.

Obiechina stated that she was not released after Evans arrest.

“After my brother’s arrest on June 10, 2017, we were not released on the following day, my husband was released a week after and I was released two weeks after,” she said

When asked about the narration she made before the panel that she was two months, if the police were aware of her pregnancy, she said ” they were very much aware that I was two months pregnant”.

The issue brought before the panel by the couple was the failure of the police to comply with a N2m judgment which they secured against the police for the violation of their rights.

In response, the lawyer questioned the couple if their lawyer had filed an action in court for the enforcement of the judgment.

The panel later adjourned the case till December 8 for the adoption of summons.
