Nigeria’s inflation falls to 15.43% in July
Nigeria’s headline inflation rate fell to 15.43 per cent in July 2026, down from 15.91 per cent recorded in June.
The latest figure represents a 0.48 percentage-point decline from the previous month.
On a month-on-month basis, inflation also slowed to 1.57 per cent in July from 1.66 per cent in June, indicating a slower increase in the average prices of goods and services.
However, food inflation increased significantly during the period, rising to 20.31 per cent year-on-year in July from 17.52 per cent in June.
Food inflation also increased on a month-on-month basis, rising to 5.56 per cent in July from 3.75 per cent recorded in June.
The latest figures show that while overall inflation continued to moderate, rising food prices remained a major source of pressure on Nigerian households.
